We are thrilled and delighted to share that Hope City Furniture has been bestowed with the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service, as part of His Majesty the King’s 2023 honours list. This recognition is equivalent to an MBE and is the highest accolade awarded to local volunteer groups.

Hope City Furniture is one of 262 local charities, social enterprises, and voluntary groups across the UK that are being honoured today for their exceptional service to their local communities. This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, staff, directors, and everyone who has contributed to building the charity over the past five years.

Since our establishment in 2018, we have had the privilege of assisting approximately 650 individuals and families in Derby with  the provision of over 3,250 items of good quality furniture and appliances completely free of charge.

Having our efforts acknowledged on a national level is truly humbling. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone  who has been part of this journey so far. Here’s to many more years of serving our community!
